Meet Matt

Advisor | Speaker | Thought Leader

"The world doesn't need more reactive leaders — it needs more expansive ones. That’s where the Power of &™ begins."

Matt Elliott works with CEOs, leadership teams and boards to build and protect leadership capacity. His forthcoming book, “Overloaded: Recapturing Leadership Capacity with The Power of &™”, makes the case that capacity is the defining leadership constraint of our time.

Matt’s framework challenges conventional thinking and equips senior leaders with real-world tools for thriving in volatile environments, turning complexity into a competitive edge. Through his book, keynotes, workshops and consulting, Matt seeks to help individuals and organizations succeed in a world that won’t slow down.

The Power of &™ concept and & Intelligence™ framework originated from Matt’s firsthand experience as a senior leader at large organizations like Bank of America, where he was President of Bank of America Michigan

At BOA, Matt led teams across nine states, deployed over $35 billion in sustainable capital, and spearheaded the largest commercial bank sustainability engagement in North America, reaching 25,000 clients. He also drove Bank of America’s brand satisfaction in Michigan from #5 to #1, and created over 40,000 hours of annual capacity savings through human-centered design.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Over  35 years, Matt faced the burnout and cognitive and emotional overload facing many modern leaders.

After facing burnout at the peak of his career, Matt underwent a profound shift in how he leads. He emerged with a new understanding of what high-performance leadership really demands, and what it takes to succeed when the stakes are high and the answers aren’t binary.

Through research and experience, Matt has built an operating system to help leaders recapture the capacity to hold tension and multiple truths without collapsing into the trap of either/or thinking.

Matt's work draws from agile management theory, design thinking and modern approaches to brain health. Standing on the shoulders of neuroscience but layered in practical examples, Matt offers a better way to lead inside acceleration.

His personal experience and advisory experience shape the themes of his book, his keynote talks and The Power of &™ - a leadership mindset and 3-step framework for navigating disruption without losing direction.
